New Orleans embraces its sweet tooth: Meet the Baby Cakes

The former New Orleans Zephyrs certainly had the most colorful options to choose from when renaming their team for 2017. There were two different kinds of pastries, animals and even a sandwich among the choices.

The Miami Marlins’ Triple A affiliate has settled on, perhaps, the most unique moniker in all of MiLB. They’ll be taking the field next season as the New Orleans Baby Cakes.

Election Day: A look back at New Hampshire Fisher Cats’ democratic hat process

It’s Election Day in America, which means there’s no better time to look at one of the most interesting sets of caps from the 2016 season.

What is this site?

CapsIntroPost.jpg

I like baseball caps. As soon as spring weather is close, I don’t leave the house without one on my head.

But aside from their practical use, I love what baseball caps can express, especially in the hands (or on the heads) of minor league teams.

Major league caps, for the most part, don’t deviate from the norm that much. There’s a little more experimentation at the minor league level, though. These teams, outside of the national spotlight, have a chance to do exciting things, like helping dorks like me learn about cities around the country, while having a bunch of fun doing it.

This site is me musing about the weird, wild and downright fun stuff baseball teams do with their caps.

Thanks for checking out Stuff on Baseball Caps. If you could give us a follow on Twitter and Instagram, I would really appreciate it. I hope you enjoy the site and come back often!
